Kevin Nash reveals whether he is still friends with WWE Hall of Famer Sting
Kevin Nash has shared some details regarding a recent meeting with his long-time friend and WWE Hall of Famer, Sting. The 65-year-old veteran spoke on the matter on his podcast.
The Icon drew the curtains on his illustrious career at Revolution 2024, where he and Darby Allin successfully defended the AEW World Tag Team Championships against Matthew and Nicholas Jackson. A number of Sting's former colleagues were present backstage for his final bout, including Lex Luger, Scotty Riggs, and DDP - but conspicuous in his absence was Kevin Nash, who worked with the Hall of Famer in WCW, TNA, and even in WWE.
On a recent episode of his Kliq This podcast, Nash revealed that he had recently caught up with Sting. He claimed that meeting the former WCW World Champion was a pleasant experience, especially in light of online conjecture regarding Nash's absence during Sting's last wrestling match at AEW Revolution—an absence for which Nash has offered his own explanations.
"It was nice, really great [to meet Sting]. It was so great to see him because there was so much internet talk about me not going to Steve’s last match. … No, we love each other. He’s my friend. It’s like, he understands.”
Nash went on to reveal that the two men had a discussion about health, with The Stinger supposedly telling the former WWE Champion about issues affecting his shoulder and the latter offering medical advice in return.
“We talked about like, you know, his shoulders are starting to bother him and we’re the … Steve and I are the same age, and it’s just like it was so funny because we haven’t talked to each other about shoulder pain at all but it’s just like all of a sudden he’s like, ‘I don’t know what I did.’ I said, ‘It’s like a switch, like all of a sudden just one day you wake up and it’s just like my shoulders are killing me.’ I said, ‘What you got to do is get MRIs,’ I said, ‘Because chances are that your labrums are gone and you’re bone on bone.’” [H/T PWMania]
WWE legend Kevin Nash on whether Sting could return as an authority figure in AEW
Following The New Elite's assault on Tony Khan earlier this year, speculations began to circulate regarding the possibility of the AEW CEO bringing back Sting as an authority figure on All Elite Wrestling programming. WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash was asked to comment on the prospect on an edition of Kliq This in May.
The former NWO member responded in the negative, claiming that The Vigilante would not project the credibility befitting an authority figure with his face-painted look. He also stated that Sting would not be interested in playing a commissioner in a suit and shades.
It remains to be seen if the pro wrestling industry has seen the last of Sting.
