Kevin Nash has a very straightforward answer to potentially seeing Shane McMahon in AEW
One of the most debated topics in the pro wrestling world right now is the prospect of Shane McMahon joining AEW. The conversation gained more traction after McMahon allegedly contacted an All Elite Wrestling talent to discuss the idea of working with the promotion.
In recent weeks, many prominent pro wrestling personalities have discussed Shane McMahon's future in the business. On an episode of his Kliq THIS podcast, Kevin Nash said McMahon potentially signing with AEW wouldn't make a difference due to other major issues in the company.
"To me, at this point right now, it doesn't matter what he brings. Because there are 11 laps left in the Indianapolis 500 and AEW hasn't got a car on the track yet," he said. [0:56 - 1:11]
For those unaware, the Indianapolis 500 is among America's most prestigious car races and is billed as The Greatest Spectacle in Racing. The race comprises 200 laps on the 2.5-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway Oval.
Tony Khan has signed some of the biggest names in pro wrestling, including Mercedes Mone, Adam Copeland, CM Punk, and Chris Jericho. If he joins AEW, Shane-O-Mac can be a massive asset to the organization since he is a remarkable in-ring competitor and one of the most respected backstage personalities in the industry.
Over the years, McMahon has wrestled in several intense matches, including his barbaric showdown with Kurt Angle at King of the Ring 2001.
Jim Ross thinks Shane McMahon can join AEW
Jim Ross was part of WWE for years before inking a deal with AEW. Hence, he worked closely with Shane McMahon behind the scenes.
On his podcast, Grillling Jr., the WWE Hall of Famer said McMahon working in AEW wasn't out of the question. Ross added that the former Hardcore Champion still loved the pro wrestling business.
"It could happen (...) Oh, absolutely, it could happen (...) He's got [a] great name, identity; he's got people who recognize him. So, hell, I don't know. I would say it's a long shot, less than 50/50, that he would re-engage in pro wrestling, but I can't say that it's impossible because it isn't. And he's a good guy, and he still loves the business." It remains to be seen whether fans will ever see Shane McMahon in an AEW ring. The former Hardcore Champion has been away from the squared circle since his match against The Miz at WrestleMania 39, where he sustained an injury.
