Konnan addresses why absent AEW star may not have signed with WWE
Former WCW veteran Konnan recently addressed discussions about a top star who has been seemingly frustrated about her not being utilized by AEW despite being signed with them for some time now. This would be Kamille.
The Brickhouse signed with All Elite Wrestling earlier this year, but she has yet to make her debut. There has also been no official announcement of her arrival to the promotion, which led to questions from the fans. She has also seemingly expressed her disappointment with her current booking.
On the recent edition of the Keepin' It 100 podcast, Konnan talked about the situation and mentioned how he felt she should have chosen WWE, but maybe there was no substantial offer from them. He felt that it was weird for her to turn them down and choose the Tony Khan-led company if there was an offer on the table in the first place.
"I originally thought she should have gone to WWE, but, maybe they didn't offer her, and AEW did, and she just said take this. Because why would you go to AEW when WWE's calling you?" [1:39-1:52]
Disco Inferno also spoke about Kamille choosing AEW
Konnan's co-host Disco Inferno also gave his two cents on the situation. He felt that this example of Kamille being underutilized was proof of why many decided to sign with WWE in the first place if they got an offer from them.
He mentioned how in the end, those who sign with AEW get paid a lot of money but are seemingly left staring at a wall until plans come their way for their booking.
"This is an example of why a lot of talent probably likes to go to WWE instead of AEW. Kamille has been signed for a while and she was complaining 'Here I am, waiting to get used.' You know, I mean, it is what it is. You get paid a lot of money but like that's all you're doing, you're getting paid a lot of money in that company." [0:46-1:04]
With two major feuds in the women's division headlining the road to All In, it remains to be seen if they add any other major storylines within the division and whether Kamille and some other underutilized stars get their chance to shine.
