Konnan claims former champion has backstage heat in AEW: "Got a massive ego"
2024 has predominantly been a tremulous year for AEW. Many of their top names are sidelined due to injury. Furthermore, it is unknown when some of them will return to regular programming.
Earlier this year, former AEW Women's World Champion Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. made her much-awaited comeback. She was absent for over nine months, however, upon her return, she instantly began feuding with AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Moné. They even locked horns for the championship at All In, but the former Sasha Banks triumphed. While in-ring, nothing looked out of the ordinary, Baker reportedly has been accused of having a big ego.
A few weeks back Britt Baker and former AEW World Champion MJF had a heated argument backstage. This led to the 33-year-old getting suspended. Interestingly, according to wrestling veteran Konnan, Baker has a huge ego.
"What I have heard is, yeah, we all know about Brit Baker—she has a big ego. She ended up getting suspended, like she went off on M, even though MJF tried to come out and tried to, like, you know, go, ‘Do you think that I would really scream at her? Do you think I would do this? Do you think I would do that?’ All that happened. You know, she went in there, she screamed at him, she screamed at his girlfriend. He talked about the girlfriend in public, she found out, he found out—she’s got a massive ego," said Konnan. (H/T Ringside News)
According to Konnan, AEW stars Britt Baker and Adam Cole have parted ways
Britt Baker reportedly began dating former NXT Champion Adam Cole in 2017. The latter is the leader of the "Undisputed Kingdom" faction and is sidelined due to injury. Interestingly, according to Konnan, this couple is not together anymore.
"This I didn't even know; this was thrown in there: [Baker is] no longer with Cole," said Konnan. "And this is what the person put at the end: 'He's better off, she's unhinged.'"
It remains to be seen what the future holds for the two stars. Some fans are also speculating that Baker could jump ship soon.
