Konnan comes to MJF's defense over a big accusation: "You're either uninformed, a hater, or both"
WCW veteran Konnan recently defended MJF after he was accused of being the reason behind the ratings decline of AEW. The Salt of the Earth recently returned to television after a hiatus.
Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) returned to All Elite Wrestling at the Double or Nothing PPV event last month. The Salt of the Earth is currently in a feud with Rush and is set to face him in a singles match at this week's AEW Dynamite. Friedman's Forbidden Door PPV opponent has yet to be determined which is surprising as he is one of the top stars of the Jacksonville-based promotion.
Speaking on the Keepin' It 100 podcast, Konnan claimed that the former AEW World Champion is the best thing on TV and the latter should not be blamed for the low ratings of AEW shows.
"As far as MJF, he may not be a draw according to numbers but that's one indictment on the show, not him because he's usually the best thing on the show. You're either uninformed, or a hater or both, or a mark." [2:44-2:59]
Bully Ray is excited for MJF versus Rush on AEW Dynamite
The Mexican Luchador Rush has been the first feud for MJF ever since he came back to the company last month at Double or Nothing. The rivalry is seemingly set to culminate at the upcoming AEW Dynamite.
Speaking on the Busted Open podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray shared his thoughts on the feud and claimed that Friedman's rivalry with Rush is more interesting than his feuds with CM Punk and Bryan Danielson.
"I am gonna go out on a limb here. it better be a strong limb. I am more excited for Max vs RUSH, than I have been for any other Max match in AEW. That includes the match against Punk, the dog collar match, and that includes Max against Danielson. There's something about Rush that has me so intrigued for this match," he said. The former AEW World Champion is currently not on the Forbidden Door PPV's match card. It will be interesting to see if All Elite Wrestling reveals Maxwell's opponent for the June 30th event in Elmont, New York.
