Konnan urges AEW to get rid of popular faction - "They've been there five years"
AEW has been a faction-friendly promotion since its inception in 2019. The roster has featured notable stables such as The Elite, Best Friends, The House of Black, Death Triangle, and The Blackpool Combat Club. However, wrestling veteran Konnan has urged Tony Khan to nix one fan-favorite faction.
The Dark Order arrived at All Elite Wrestling's inaugural Double or Nothing PPV in 2019 with two members: Stu Grayson and Evil Uno. The late Brodie Lee debuted several months later as the leader of the group. Current members include Evil Uno, John Silver, Alex Reynolds, and Brodie Lee Jr. (Negative 1), while former members include the late Brodie Lee, Stu Grayson, Preston Vance, Alan Angels, Colt Cabana, and Anna Jay.
The future of The Dark Order has been a topic of discussion as of late. Speaking on his Keepin' It 100 OFFICIAL podcast, Konnan explained why he believes that it's time for the popular faction to go.
"Dude, get rid of those guys. They've been there five years, and they mean just as much as they've ever meant; nothing!" Konnan said. [From 3:46 to 3:53]
The Dark Order has never held All Elite Tag Team gold, despite getting shots at the World Tag Team Championship and the World Trios Championship. The only reign credited to the group is the late Brodie Lee's 46-day TNT Championship reign in August 2020.
The Dark Order is absent from AEW TV
The Dark Order is currently a part of AEW's roster, and they recently took over the successful Being The Elite series on YouTube, rebranding it as Being The Dark Order. However, the faction has been off regular weekly programming for months.
Evil Uno, Alex Reynolds, and John Silver have worked close to two dozen ROH matches since April 2023. However, they have worked less than 20 AEW matches in the same period and less than 10 in 2024.
The Dark Order's last Trios Match on AEW TV came during the February 28, 2024, episode of Collision, where they were defeated by Anthony Bowens, Max Caster, and Austin Gunn. Just a few weeks later, Uno and Silver were defeated by Best Friends on Rampage. The trio then worked two Dynamite dark matches in May.
The Dark Order is set to be in action at Friday's ROH Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view. They are scheduled to face Dustin Rhodes and The Von Erichs (Marshall and Ross Von Erich) in a Trios Match.
