Kurt Angle and top veterans played a big role in AEW star getting into WWE

A current AEW star disclosed that the WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle and other veterans helped him to initially get into the Stamford-based promotion. The star was part of the biggest wrestling promotion over a decade ago.

Lance Archer has been a part of the All Elite roster since his debut in 2020. Many fans may remember The Murderhawk Monster for his time in WWE in 2009 and 2010, where he wrestled under the name Vance Archer. The 47-year-old star is currently a part of the Don Callis Family on TV.

Archer recently recalled how WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle and other veterans such as Dusty Rhodes, Test, and Johnny Ace played a big role in his getting into the Stamford-based promotion in 2009. Speaking on The Hawk's Nest, Archer revealed the following regarding the same:

"Kurt Angle sent an email, like I said, Dusty [Rhodes] was a supporter of mine, the late Andrew [Martin] or ‘Test’ — he reached out to Johnny Ace at the time and said ‘Hey, you should give this kid a chance. So I had several people — those people included — who reached out for me on my behalf." [H/T Inside The Ropes]

Kurt Angle got multiple offers from AEW

Kurt Angle recently disclosed that AEW and Tony Khan extended an offer to him a couple of times but refused as both of them had to do with wrestling. Speaking with Inside The Ropes recently, Angle revealed he refused the offer because he couldn't wrestle anymore.

"AEW did offer me a couple of times. Tony Khan absolutely adores me, from what I've heard. I don't know if it's true or not. They did offer me two different deals, unfortunately, they both had to do with wrestling. I knew I couldn't do it. I'm at this point in my career and my life where I'm having two knee replacements next month."

While Archer is going strong in AEW, it remains to be seen whether he will ever be joined by Kurt Angle in a non-wrestling capacity.
