"Leave me alone" - Mercedes Mone does not want to wrestle a top AEW star and demands she stay at home
Mercedes Mone is the reigning AEW TBS Champion as well as the Strong Women's Champion. She is one of Tony Khan's biggest signings in recent years because of her extraordinary WWE run.
Ever since becoming the TBS Champion at Double or Nothing, The CEO has been defending her title regularly. At the recent Full Gear 2024 Pay-Per-View, she defended the tile against former champion Kris Statlander. This week on Dynamite, she continued her reign by defeating Anna Jay, in a match that lasted almost eleven minutes.
In the latest edition of her weekly newsletter Mone Mag, Mercedes Mone wrote that after her battle with Jay, she went to X (fka Twitter) and learned that Statlander watched her match. She strongly suggested the former TBS Champion to stay at home and leave her alone during the holiday season. Additionally, The CEO sent holiday wishes to the readers.
"After the match, I jumped on X and saw Kris Statlander was watching. Kris, girl, I know you saw my Instagram Live! I’m serious when I say I’ll cover your Instacart and cable bill if you just stay home and leave me alone. Let’s be real—you don’t want to mess with me right now. So, Kris, the greatest gift you can give me this holiday season is to just let me be. Happy holidays, everyone! Sending you all many blessings. Thank you!: [H/T: Mone Mag].
Mercedes Mone to defend the TBS Championship against Mina Shirakawa at Wrestle Dynasty
Mercedes Mone with lock horns with Mina Shirakawa for the TBS Championship in the Tokyo Dome at Wrestle Dynasty. In the same newsletter mentioned above, The CEO revealed that she dreamt of performing in this iconic venue since she was thirteen:
"Wrestling in the Tokyo Dome has been a dream of mine since I was just 13 years old, and honestly, I can’t help but tear up as I write this," she wrote.
Mone is currently the second-longest-reigning TBS Champion of all time. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the former WWE Superstar.
