Legendary former WWE champion isn't ruling out another AEW run
The year 2024 saw several former WWE Superstars leave All Elite Wrestling. Chief among them were Matt and Jeff Hardy. The brothers, however, are interested in returning to the Jacksonville-based promotion for another run.
The Hardy Boyz are among the most decorated tag teams in the history of pro wrestling. With the brothers reaching the twilight of their respective careers, fans have been wanting to see one last tag team run.
As a matter of fact, they gave fans a bit of nostalgia during their time in All Elite Wrestling. However, their AEW stint was majorly marred by Jeff Hardy's untimely injuries and suspension, causing them to lose their push.
Since leaving All Elite Wrestling, Team Xtreme has rekindled their passion in TNA, where they have found plenty of success outside the sports entertainment juggernaut over the years.
Speaking on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt Hardy was asked about the possibility of The Hardy Boyz returning to WWE or AEW in the future.
The 49-year-old legend said the duo isn't closing the door on anything as he believes in wrestling's famous adage: "Never say never."
"As far as going to WWE or AEW, it’s a never-say-never scenario in my world. In the extreme life of Matt Hardy, it’s a never-say-never. You never rule anything out. You never close any doors on anything. You do your best, you keep your chin up, you keep moving forward, and try to speak as honestly and as transparently as possible," Matt Hardy said. Former AEW star Matt Hardy confirms talks with WWE
Matt Hardy recently revealed that he and his brother filmed content for WWE during SummerSlam weekend this year.
He has now confirmed that the Hardy Boyz have been in talks with the Stamford-based promotion lately, hinting at one last run:
"There's still been some ongoing conversation with WWE. So yeah, I mean, anything can happen in the extreme life of Matt Hardy," he added.
Matt Hardy has been very vocal about the Hardy Boyz wrapping up their careers in their old stomping grounds. Will Triple H bring them back for one last run? Or is another AEW run in the cards? Only time will tell.
