Lex Luger addresses AEW's treatment of Sting (Exclusive)

Sting retired from in-ring competition after 39 years at AEW Revolution on March 3. Former WCW and WWE star Lex Luger recently shared his thoughts on how his long-time friend's career ended.

Having initially retired during his 2016 WWE Hall of Fame induction, Sting returned to the ring in 2021 with AEW. The 65-year-old teamed up with Darby Allin to retain the AEW World Tag Team Championship against The Young Bucks in his final match.

Luger received permission to attend the event despite being contracted to WWE as an ambassador. Speaking to Sportskeeda Wrestling Senior Editor Bill Apter, The Total Package only had positive things to say about AEW's handling of Sting:

"I did [see Sting's retirement], I was there," Luger said. "They allowed me to be there. It was fabulous. What a career. Who would have imagined spanning five decades of time, really? 80s, 90s, 2000s, 10s, into five decades. Absolutely incredible. I didn't know [how Sting would retire], but I thought it was great. The way they did it, I thought it was fabulous, Bill." [1:53 – 2:21]

In the video above, Luger disclosed details about his current WWE role. The two-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion also gave his thoughts on Bret Hart blaming Bill Goldberg for his career-ending injury.
