Major AEW name is skeptical about Wyatt Sicks after WWE debut - "It just does not work that way."
Wyatt Sicks recently debuted on WWE RAW. A major AEW name, however, is skeptical about this new group.
Jim Ross is the latest to comment on the Wyatt Sicks. After sending cryptic messages for several months via QR codes, the Wyatt Sicks finally made an appearance last week on RAW. They already wreaked havoc as they made their entrance by taking out several WWE stars including Braun Strowman and Chad Gable.
Many people have gotten amped up by this new group and several critics have spoken about them. Speaking on his Griling JR podcast, Jim Ross voiced his skepticism about the group since it will be hard to replicate Bray Wyatt's presence:
"I saw highlights of it, I did. I think it’s gonna be challenging to make it work. Bray Wyatt cast a massive shadow, and he was amazingly talented. The new group doesn’t have anybody that, to me, and I don’t mean to be course, but Bray Wyatt can’t be replaced. So the more that WWE can make this new group different, the better off they’ll be."
He continued:
"But to try to emulate and to replicate step-by-step, it’s gonna be really challenging. That’s like saying, ‘We’ll get another bald guy with a goatee that can do. stunner, and he’ll be [Steve] Austin.’ Well, it don’t work that way. It just does not work that way. So look, I’m all for those guys being successful and going well. It’s all about the business and guys getting an opportunity to provide better for their families, which I’m all for. But I think it’s gonna be challenging," Ross said. [H/T Fightful]
Bill Apter hated the Wyatt Sicks' debut
The Wyatt Sicks turned a lot of heads with their debut on WWE RAW last week. Many people have opened up about the group and a lot of fans seem to be excited about their future.
However, Sportskeeda Senior Editor Bill Apter noted on the Wrestling Time Machine podcast that he was not fond of the segment:
"I am gonna use a 4 letter word here. Yuck, I hated it. I hated it. I really didn't like it at all. I think Braun Strowman was down too, I didn't feel it was enough. I didn't feel like it was a tribute. I just felt like they were trying to continue the story of course. It should have been a cinematic peace. It shouldn't have been live there. I just didn't... It didn't work for me." [1:13 onwards]
It will be interesting to see how this new group will continue their storyline this week on RAW.
