Major AEW star calls Bryan Danielson "one of the best people" he has met
Despite being one of the most feared technical wrestlers in the entire world, Bryan Danielson is often regarded as one of the nicest performers outside the ring. So much so that one of his former rivals has admitted that the American Dragon is one of the best human beings he has ever met.
The former rival in question is Daniel Garcia, a man who had a trilogy of matches with Danielson in 2022 that was not only seen as one of the best series of bouts from that year, but proved to AEW fans that Garcia could hang with the best.
Daniel Garcia was recently invited onto Matt Hardy's podcast, "The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy," as a special guest, and during their lengthy conversation, Garcia admitted that Bryan Danielson is one of the best people he has ever met.
"Yeah, wrestling Bryan [Danielson] was the coolest thing ever. I mean we’ve had three singles matches. The last one was a two-out-of-three falls match at the Game of Thrones version of [Dynamite]. You know the whole crowd chanting my name after, chanting 'you’re a wrestler' which was really cool. Wrestling Bryan meant the world to me. I learned so much from him as not just a wrestler, but as a human. Bryan is one of the best people I’ve ever met in my life 100%." [39:07-39:31]
Garcia went on to state how much he loved teaming with Bryan Danielson after their trilogy of matches wrapped up, even revealing that a number of his family members had made the drive to Washington D.C. to sit in the front row and support him.
"Being able to tag with Bryan a couple of weeks after in DC against [Chris] Jericho and Sammy [Guevara], my mom and my cousins drove to the show, they were sitting in the front row for it. Some of that stuff I’ll take to the grave with me, some of the coolest stuff I’ve ever done in my life." [39:32-39:47]
Bryan Danielson will be in action this Wednesday on AEW Dynamite
AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy seems to have unfinished business with Jon Moxley, but when you fight one member of the Blackpool Combat Club, you tend to fight them all.
That's exactly what's going to happen this week on AEW Dynamite, when Bryan Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli team up to take on Cassidy and his partner, The Rainmaker, Kazuchika Okada.
The American Dragon defeated Okada in the main event of Forbidden Door in June, but sustained a broken arm at the hands of The Rainmaker, which forced him to miss both the highly-anticipated 'Blood and Guts' match in July and the All In event at Wembley Stadium in August.
