Major AEW star fakes injury mid-match in Tony Khan's promotion; gets punished immediately
A top AEW star recently faked an injury during an ongoing match. The star being discussed is Bille Starkz.
The 19-year-old has been one of the fastest-rising stars in the industry, making a name for herself quickly. She made her AEW debut in December 2022 on Dark. Later, she became part of the ROH roster after Tony Khan owned it.
At Ring of Honor, she aligned with the ROH Women's World Champion Athena, and the duo has been dominating the entire division for months. She later became the inaugural ROH Women's Television Champion at Supercard of Honor in April. She defeated Queen Aminata in the tournament finals and faked an injury to capture the championship in the Tony Khan-owned promotion.
Billie was scheduled to face Red Velvet at Death Before Dishonor. The entertaining bout saw both AEW stars use every move in the arsenal. Starkz faked a neck injury during the match's climax, and medics checked her.
Billie Starkz stood up instantly and attacked Red Velvet with an enzuigiri. The latter acted as being knocked out with the move, using a trick from Billie's book. Velvet then delivered Mama's Recipe when Starkz was on the ropes and defeated her to win the championship.
It will be interesting to see what is next for Billie Starkz and if she demands a rematch.
