Major AEW star felt "more credible" than ever on Dynamite, according to Bully Ray

According to Bully Ray, a top star in AEW experienced a boost in credibility courtesy of their segment on Dynamite this week. The talent in question is Swerve Strickland.

Veteran announcer Jim Ross interviewed Swerve Strickland ahead of his Title vs. Career AEW World Championship match against challenger Bryan Danielson at All In 2024 later this month. The New Flavor discussed his motivation to overcome his legendary opponent in Wembley Stadium and vowed to solidify his own legacy in the process.

Wrestling veteran Bully Ray shared his two cents on the segment featuring JR and Swerve on a recent episode of Busted Open After Dark. The ECW and WWE legend claimed that Strickland's interview with Ross elevated his credibility as World Champion. He also heaped praise on Good Ol' JR.

"For some reason, Swerve felt more credible than he ever has," Ray said. "Tonight, I felt that AEW did a good job of putting Swerve in the proper spotlight and featuring him the way a world heavyweight champion should. If you're sitting next to JR, that's credible in its own self... Some would argue JR is the best to ever do it, so the sit down worked with Swerve."

Ray delved further into the interview's content and remarked on how it advanced Strickland's feud with Danielson en route to All In.

"JR came right out and asked Swerve if he had any remorse for the things that he's done while he's in AEW. Things that he's done in the past. So we've had some great answers about All in, says what he has in store for Bryan Danielson, [and later] told Danielson when he came to the ring [at the end of Dynamite]," he said. Bully Ray responded to Tony Khan's recent comments about AEW detractors

Despite emerging as a new wrestling powerhouse in recent years, All Elite Wrestling and its product are frequently targeted by individuals—fans and industry experts alike—over various issues. Tony Khan recently commented on the matter, pointing out the overwhelming negativity the promotion has to contend with on a regular basis and claiming that there are people who want the company to fail.

Khan's statement elicited a response from veteran Bully Ray, who took to X/Twitter and argued that most people who earn their livelihoods in the wrestling industry are rooting for AEW's success. He added that most of these voices, including his own, also want the Jacksonville-based promotion to flourish and improve its programming on all levels.

It remains to be seen how TK continues to develop the card for All In 2024 over the following weeks.
