Major AEW star says he has "unfinished business" with Jon Moxley

A top AEW star recently reflected on his history with Jon Moxley, mentioning he had unfinished business with the latter. The name in question is the current International Champion, Orange Cassidy.

The 39-year-old won the title from Rey Fenix a few weeks ago on Dynamite. With the victory, Orange Cassidy also became the first-ever two-time International Champion. However, Cassidy received the opportunity because of The Purveyor of Violence.

Moxley was scheduled for a title rematch against Rey Fenix but wasn't cleared to compete. Meanwhile, Cassidy grabbed the opportunity instead and captured the gold. In a recent interview with Bex & Buster, the AEW International Champion praised Fenix while discussing their high-stakes match.

“When the opportunity came up of me trying to get it back, I obviously took it. Rey Fenix is one of the best wrestlers in the world, but he was banged up, if not as bad or worse than I was when I lost it. I have it now, I’m very grateful. There’s unfinished business I have with this, and it has to do with the person [Moxley] that took it from me in the first place."

Cassidy further highlighted how he had unfinished business with Moxley after their All Out 2023 bout:

"I feel like I have something to prove now. The first time around, I was just defending it to win. I don’t think I have to prove anything to anybody, ever, but for some reason, I think I do. Maybe it’s in my head.” [H/T WrestleTalk]

Orange Cassidy described how he felt after losing the AEW International Title to Jon Moxley

Orange Cassidy held the AEW International Championship for more than 350 days before eventually losing it to Jon Moxley at the All Out pay-per-view this year.

In the same chat, Cassidy described his reaction to losing the title to Jon Moxley after a remarkable run:

“I didn’t plan on losing in the first place, it was the most important thing. When I lost it, I was kind of like, I didn’t really feel like I had a purpose, which is bizarre for a human being to say, and it’s something I never thought I would experience. When your identity, for almost a year, is that you’re the International Champion that is so used to wrestling and defending the belt every single week, and when you don’t, you’re kind of lost.” [H/T Wrestletalk]

Cassidy also teased reigniting his feud with Jon Moxley on a recent episode of Collision after bumping into him. It remains to be seen what's next for the duo.
