Major issue with Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson ignored by AEW before WrestleDream, veteran says
A wrestling veteran pointed out a major issue in the feud between Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson ahead of AEW WrestleDream. The two are set to compete for the AEW World Title this weekend.
The rivalry between the two kicked off when Moxley betrayed Bryan at All Out 2024 and choked the latter with a plastic bag.
Moxley recently talked about burying Danielson in his backyard at WrestleDream. Meanwhile, wrestling veteran Jim Cornette called out an issue in the ongoing feud between former Blackpool Combat Club stablemates. Speaking on his Drive-Thru podcast recently, Cornette expressed his confusion over why The Deathrider actually turned on The American Dragon.
"He is talking about burying Bryan Danielson in his backyard on October the [sic] 12th. Danielson was part of the group [BCC]; they never broke up until Moxley just came out and put a plastic bag over Danielson's head the other night, right? After Claudio gave him the upper flipper. So has he yet said? Do we know? No, we don't know because he [Moxley] hasn't said anything intelligible," he said.
Cornette further claimed that the Moxley calling out Bryan didn't make sense:
"Why do they suddenly hate this guy that was in their group for so long that they now tried to kill him, and he [Moxley] wants to bury him, and there's gonna be casualties along the way, and the pay-per-view is next week? We don't even know why he's mad. What sense does this make?" [4:03-4:49]
Jon Moxley sent a message for Bryan Danielson ahead of WrestleDream
At Dynamite: Title Tuesday, Jon Moxley opened the show with a backstage promo. In his promo, Moxley sent an intense message to AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson. The Purveyor of Violence said the following in his promo:
"Fact is, for the better part of two years, Bryan has been trying to kamikaze himself. It's been disconcerting to watch [him] trying to take himself out. 'Cause as of yet, no one possesses the constitution to do it for him. It's gotta be me. It'll be a wake-up call for AEW. This is the real world; nothing lasts forever! You don't get to pick the day."
It remains to be seen if Jon Moxley manages to capture the AEW World Title from Danielson this weekend.
