Major name once associated with AEW teases comeback of long-lost gimmick amidst talks with WWE
A big name once associated with AEW has seemingly teased a comeback with WWE. This star has hinted that he is in talks with some companies, and it looks like he has made a decision.
The star in question is none other than Matt Hardy. His contract with AEW has expired after a four-year tenure. The star has kept his options open and spoken to WWE and others. It now seems like he has decided to return to his former company and bring back an iconic character.
Hardy took to Twitter to post a cryptic video of himself in one of the suits he wore during his time as Woken Matt Hardy in WWE. He was seen on a bed with candles around him and speaking like he did when dialed in with the aforementioned gimmick.
He was also seen performing the scary laugh with the iconic ‘Delete’ catchphrase that he made famous at the time.
Eric Bischoff says that he doesn't see Matt Hardy wrestling in WWE
Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff is known to speak his mind, and he did that when he talked about Matt Hardy recently.
Bischoff was speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast when he said he was unsure if Matt Hardy would wrestle again because of all the wear and tear his body has endured in the ring. However, the veteran said he sees him teaching the younger wrestlers in the Performance Center.
He said:
“I think Matt is a good teacher. He is passionate. Could I see him working at The Performance Center? Absolutely. But in the ring again, competing? I just think injuries, time, things that happen naturally over time as you age. I don't see it. Hopefully, I am wrong ,for their sake, especially Matt because he is not under contract right now.”
With Matt Hardy teasing his move to WWE with his latest Twitter post, it will be interesting to see if he will return in a wrestling capacity.
