Major split seemingly teased at AEW Full Gear 2024

AEW may have teased the split of a top tag team at Full Gear 2024. The duo in question are The Acclaimed, who were in action in a title bout at the pay-per-view.

Heading into Full Gear, tensions seemed to be brewing between Max Caster and Anthony Bowens surrounding their disagreement over aligning with The Hurt Syndicate. The Acclaimed competed in a Four-Way AEW World Tag Team Title match at the pay-per-view against The Outrunners, Kings of the Black Throne, and defending champions Private Party.

Cracks showed in Caster and Bowens' dynamics since they entered, and the former champions were notably out of sync throughout the match. The self-proclaimed Best Wrestler Alive elicited a particularly hostile reaction from the crowd, which Platinum Max seemed glad to feed off.

At one point, Caster even tagged himself as a legal competitor opposite Bowens and asked the latter to pin him to win the belts, adopting an arguably heel tactic. However, The Scissor King did not seem pleased with his partner and his conduct. Eventually, Private Party mounted a comeback and retained their titles with a Gin and Juice on Caster.

Whether Max Caster and Anthony Bowens will soon go their separate ways on AEW programming remains to be seen.
