Major spoiler on injured star's possible AEW return after 5-month absence - Reports
AEW has momentum from a series of strong pay-per-view events and special Dynamite episodes. The company is moving forward to the end of another year, one in which they celebrated several milestones. Several debuts and returns, including one former champion, are still expected for this year.
Powerhouse Hobbs has not wrestled in six months. The 33-year-old suffered a torn patellar tendon while wrestling Jon Moxley in the Dynamite main event on April 24, 2024, and was forced to undergo surgery days later due to the severity. Hobbs quickly began training for his return as he began physical therapy three weeks after the operation.
The Embodiment of Willpower is now rumored to return on Wednesday's Dynamite from West Valley City, Utah. PWInsider reports that multiple people have spotted Hobbs in the Salt Lake City area ahead of tomorrow's live Dynamite.
Sources noted that Hobbs has been at several AEW and ROH events while on the shelf, so this sighting does not necessarily mean he will be returning this week, but he is in town for the show.
The former TNT Champion has been a member of The Don Callis Family since October 2023. The faction is currently being pushed across multiple storylines with Konosuke Takeshita, Kyle Fletcher, Lance Archer, and Brian Cage, while Hobbs and Trent Beretta are out with injuries.
