Man who helped train Bryan Danielson wants to face the AEW star before retirement
Bryan Danielson received a unique challenge for a match from a man who had previously helped him train. The star haid he wants to have it before he fully retires.
Danielson’s full-time wrestling career came to a crashing end at AEW WrestleDream, where Jon Moxley soundly beat him for the world title. He then walked away from wrestling full-time, and we have not heard from him since.
Now, one of his trainers, Josh Barnett, who himself is a wrestler and a former mixed martial artist, has revealed his desire to take on Bryan Danielson in a match before he fully retires.
He was speaking on the Shining Wizards podcast when he said:
“With Bryan Danielson, yeah, 100%. I just don’t think about throwing his name out there because I just feel like it’s impossible, but I hope that if he’s gonna retire, then I at least get a chance to meet him in the ring at least one time. I’ve known him forever, we’ve done tours together, I’ve trained him on submission wrestler at times, a great guy, another Washingtonian." [H/T Fightful]
Kofi Kingston hails Bryan Danielson
WWE star Kofi Kingston has seen many great stars and even wrestled some during his illustrious career. He has now stated that Bryan Danielson is one of the top five wrestlers of all time.
He gave his opinion on the In The Kliq podcast when he praised the former AEW World Champion and said:
"Daniel Bryan, I think, is one of the greatest. He's got to be one of the top 5 of all time for a lot of different reasons. Just his resilience. He's a guy that broke his neck and came back. People said he wasn't going to do it, but you have to admire someone that can do that. Also, he is somebody who does not seek any credit. He had a lot to do with why I was even in that position (WrestleMania 35). He will never tell you that. He will not brag about it because that is something he does not do."
That is some high praise indeed, and it just goes on to show how much respect Danielson’s peers have for him.
