Mariah May sends a three-word message after Mercedes Mone seemingly challenges her for the AEW Women's World Championship

Mariah May has complained about her lack of challengers, but the AEW Women's World Champion may end up getting more than she bargained for. The 26-year-old recently reacted to Mercedes Mone's revelation that she's eyeing the champion's gold.

Mariah defeated Toni Storm at All In 2024 to become the AEW Women's World Champion but hasn't received many challenges since then. She's currently set to face Anna Jay in a No-Disqualification match on this Saturday's episode of Collision, but her future beyond that is murky.

There are several women who could challenge for the title in the coming months, including Willow Nightingale, Dr. Britt Baker, and reigning TBS Champion Mercedes Mone. The latter seems to be collecting titles, and she recently revealed that she's looking at Mariah's belt next.

Mariah May responded to the former WWE Superstar's statement today on X/Twitter. She told Mercedes to keep looking, as seen in her post below:

"Mercedes, keep looking," May wrote.

Mariah May sends emotional message to absent partner

It's lonely at the top for Mariah May, who holds the AEW Women's World Championship but currently lacks allies. Following her betrayal of Toni Storm ahead of All In, the only friend she had left was her former Stardom tag team partner, Mina Shirakawa.

Unfortunately, Shirakawa seemed troubled about May's heel turn, and she returned to Japan after Dynamite: Grand Slam in September. The company has been teasing her return lately, and the Women's World Champion seemed ecstatic about the possibility of reuniting with her friend.

Mariah took to X/Twitter earlier this week to express her longing for the Japanese star:

"need u @MinaShirakawa…"

May and Shirakawa are close, but the latter seems reluctant to rejoin her partner after the events of All In. Whether Mariah's villainous tendencies result in their breakup remains to be seen.
