Mark Henry's 17-year-old son set to train with former WWE Superstar next summer

Mark Henry is one of the greatest giant wrestlers WWE has ever had. Most often dubbed as the World's Strongest Man, Henry was one of the toughest opponents to every wrestler he faced.

Mark's son, Jacob Henry, is an amateur wrestler and a footballer. He plays as an Offensive Lineman at Vandegrift High School's football team and is also a Freestyle Heavyweight State Champion at Texas.

While speaking to A to Z Podcast about his son's interest in pro wrestling, Mark said that if his 17-year-old son starts wrestling now, he will never turn back.

"If he could go and wrestle now, he wouldn't go to college. He loves pro wrestling. This is a dude that won State in wrestling. He's a good amateur wrestler and has offers from Wisconsin, Oklahoma, big Division I schools, same thing for football. He's better than I was at that age," said Mark Henry.

The Hall of Famer also revealed that he will be going to Japan to train under former WWE Superstar Fred Rosser next summer.

"He (Jacob) said during the summers that he is going to go to Japan. Already has three or four guys that are over there. After his first year, summer in college, he's gonna go to Japan with Darren Young [Fred Rosser] and start learning how to work. I said, 'what if you get drafted in the first or second round?' He was like, 'I'll play maybe five or six years and retire early.' He wants to wrestle." [H/T - Fightful ]

Mark is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling, where he works as a commentator and coach.

Mark Henry talks about his role in AEW

The World's Strongest Man joined AEW in May 2021 and since has been involved behind the scenes of the company.

While speaking to the Hall of Fame podcast, Henry talked about his role in the promotion.

"I’m spending more time working on the psychology side of wrestling with each individual wrestler. I like the fact that I can influence guys into seeing that everything don’t [sic] work for them. It’s more of being a psychology coach than a physical coach. (...) I teach them where to do it when to do it, and why you’re doing it. Those are the things I feel like is the more important elements in pro wrestling." [H/T: Fightful]

Mark Henry was truly a great talent in WWE. It would be interesting to see how his son Jacob's future holds.
