Masked legend makes an embarrassing botch at AEW Full Gear 2024
AEW aired the 2024 iteration of its yearly pay-per-view Full Gear on November 23 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. During the broadcast, a long-time announcer employed by the promotion made an embarrassing botch.
Excalibur has been a commenter for All Elite Wrestling since 2019. The 44-year-old's play-by-play has been noted appreciatively by AEW viewers, as he draws from his own experience as a former in-ring talent and is deeply informed about the industry and its recent goings-on.
The Tony Khan-led promotion broadcasted Full Gear 2024 pay-per-view tonight. One of the most-anticipated bouts on the event's card was undoubtedly the singles match between Jay White and Hangman Adam Page.
Despite being well-known for his customary fluency, eloquence, and ability to rattle off announcements at an incredible speed, Excalibur made a surprising error while talking about The Switchblade's imminent encounter with The Cowboy. He called it "a match [of] major profortions," likely accidentally misspeaking the last word.
It remains to be seen whether King Switch will finally settle things with The Hangman at Full Gear.
