Massive announcement for AEW's female talent to kick off 2025

Talent from AEW's women's division are set to receive an opportunity to compete at a blockbuster pay-per-view next year. The event in question will be co-produced by several other promotions as well.

Earlier in 2024, it was announced that All Elite Wrestling, and its sister promotion Ring of Honor, in partnership with NJPW, Stardom, and CMLL, will host a massive wrestling show called Wrestle Dynasty at the Tokyo Dome on January 5, 2025. Talent from all the companies involved in producing the event are expected to compete at the pay-per-view.

Earlier today, the official X/Twitter profile of NJPW Global announced a four-way match to decide the winner of the 2025 International Women's Cup at Wrestle Dynasty. Each of the four competitors, individually representing either AEW, ROH, CMLL, or Stardom, will first have to advance to the pay-per-view by winning separate four-way qualifier matches hosted by their own promotions. Furthermore, the winner of the International Women's Cup will be granted a title shot of their choosing.

In November at NJPW Power Struggle 2024, Ricochet blindsided Zack Sabre Jr. and challenged him to an IWGP World Heavyweight Title match at the Tokyo Dome on January 5 next year.

Also on Power Struggle, Kenny Omega revealed that he was also targeting the upcoming cross-promotional pay-per-view to make his in-ring comeback. Wrestle Dynasty will furthermore witness TNT Champion Jack Perry facing Yota Tsuji, and might also feature International Champion Konosuke Takeshita.
