Before his match with Jack Perry last night, Suzuki's last in-ring performance in the Jacksonville-based company came on the Blood & Guts special edition of Wednesday Night Dynamite on July 24, 2024. The 56-year-old locked horns with then FTW Champion Chris Jericho in a losing cause.
Meanwhile, Jack Perry won the TNT Championship in a Ladder Match at the AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door 2024 event in June. He has since retained his title against Marko Stunt, Darby Allin, Lio Rush, Christopher Daniels, and Minoru Suzuki.
