Massive update on Kenny Omega's AEW status ahead of WrestleDream 2024
AEW star Kota Ibushi has provided an important update on Kenny Omega's return ahead of the WrestleDream 2024 PPV. Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi are both currently absent from All Elite Wrestling television.
The former AEW World Champion has been out of action since he was diagnosed with diverticulitis in December 2023. Kenny Omega has undergone surgery for the condition and has been training to get back into the ring. The veteran has also said that if the doctors clear him, he would immediately return to the ring.
Recently on Yuji Nagata's YouTube channel, Kota Ibushi, who was recently seen training with Kenny Omega, provided an update on his health. He revealed that Omega told him that he would be able to return to the ring in the next two to three months. The Cleaner also looks forward to reuniting the Golden Lovers with Kota Ibushi.
AEW star Kenny Omega on one of his favorite NJPW matches
Former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega is a legend in NJPW and became one of the biggest stars in professional wrestling thanks to his career in Japan. The Cleaner recently recalled one of his favorite matches in New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
In a recent interview, Kenny Omega revealed that his match against Toru Yano is one of his favorites. He praised the veteran and claimed that their bout was one for the ages.
"My second selection. This might catch you guys off guard. It's my match against Toru Yano and people are gonna think, 'Kenny, you must've had more difficult opponents in your career? Why aren't you choosing them?' I will counter that argument with there is no more intellectual of a wrestler than Toru Yano. He takes you right out of your element and if it weren't for my experience in DDT, he might've caught me off guard in a big way. But I think we met each other on an even playing field and we had one for the ages." [1:09 - 1:44]
We will have to wait and see when The Cleaner makes his much-anticipated return to All Elite Wrestling.
