Matt Hardy responds to accusations of not helping popular AEW tag team
WWE veteran Matt Hardy has parted ways with AEW. Recently, The Broken One responded to massive accusations about not helping AEW's Private Party Tag Team.
The former WWE United States Champion was paired with Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen (Private Party) in 2020. The trio had a great run together, however, disbanded once Jeff Hardy came to All Elite Wrestling in 2022. Private Party recently reunited on AEW Dynamite where they attacked Chris Jericho and the rest of The Learning Tree faction.
On his X (formerly Twitter) account, Matt Hardy spoke about the recent accusations by the fans against him. The fans believe that Matt did not help the AEW tag team reach their full potential. Hardy responded and pointed out that he did more than anyone else for the Private Party.
"I wasn’t in any control of the booking when I was with Private Party. I made the most outta every opportunity we ended up being booked in, whether it was good or bad. What I can tell you is that both Zay & Quen pitched for be their mentor, which I was happy to do. They’ll also tell you they learned more from me than anyone else while we were together. I love them & legit call them my kids. I want the absolute best for Zay & Quen, these asinine narratives that I “used them" are pure trash."
Former AEW star Matt Hardy recently spoke about his retirement plan
Matt Hardy gained popularity as part of The Hardy Boyz tag team along with his brother Jeff Hardy. The duo has won multiple Tag Titles all over the world and were recently spotted together in TNA.
Speaking in an interview with ComicBook.com, The former WWE Superstar revealed that he wants to retire with his brother Jeff Hardy as a tag team.
"That would definitely be our goal," Matt told ComicBook. "It is very important to us to finish how we started. We started as two brothers on this journey. Our goal was to win the Tag Team Titles of the world one time, and obviously we did that many times over. We do want to end that way. We've talked, and we're both very aware of that. We want to end our careers together as a team." [H/T: ComicBook]
The Hardy Boyz are currently free agents but are wrestling in TNA. It will be interesting to see if the duo are allowed to return to the WWE due to their recent partnership with TNA.
