Matthew Jackson seemingly reveals when The Young Bucks will retire
Current AEW World Tag Team Champion Matthew Jackson of The Young Bucks seemingly hinted at the potential retirement period for him and his brother, Nicholas Jackson. Matt made a hand gesture to possibly hint at retirement at the Double or Nothing post-show media scrum this past Sunday.
The Young Bucks are undoubtedly one of the greatest tag teams in the history of professional wrestling. The duo has completed nearly 20 years in the industry and continues to develop themselves as characters. Matthew and Nicholas Jackson are currently portraying the roles of evil EVPs in AEW and are still putting on great matches.
Meanwhile, Matthew Jackson might have hinted at the potential retirement of The Young Bucks. After the AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view, The Bucks appeared on the post-show media scrum and were having fun as usual when Matthew Jackson jokingly said, “It's been five amazing years, seriously! Let's do another 25, and then I'll retire!”
Nicholas Jackson was shocked to hear that and asked Matt, "25? Are you kidding me?" While they were laughing, Matthew made a 'three' hand gesture before leaving, which could be a hint that they have three years left in their respective careers.
The Young Bucks prevailed in the Anarchy in The Arena Match
The Young Bucks have been abusing their powers as evil EVPs after attacking the company President, Tony Khan, and their former buddy Kenny Omega in recent times. To counter the evil faction, FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) formed Team AEW along with Bryan Danielson and Darby Allin to challenge The Elite to an Anarchy in The Arena Match at Double or Nothing.
The match had several crazy spots, such as an exploding chair shot, Tony Khan's involvement, and Darby Allin putting Jack Perry on fire. Matthew and Nicholas Jackson led their team to victory by hanging Darby upside down in the end.
It will be interesting to see how The Elite reacts to their monumental victory over Team AEW on the upcoming episode of Dynamite.
