Max Caster tried to bring in 52-year-old retired WWE legend to AEW

Max Caster revealed that he had tried to bring in a 52-year-old retired WWE legend to AEW. The veteran in question is Chuck Palumbo.

During his time in WWE, Palumbo was part of an iconic and beloved tag team alongside Billy Gunn, known as Billy and Chuck. The duo had held the WWE World Tag Team Championships twice. Gunn is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling, where he is a former AEW World Trios Champion alongside Anthony Bowens and Max Caster of The Acclaimed.

During a conversation on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Caster revealed that attempts had been made to bring Chuck Palumbo to AEW and reunite him with his former partner as a member of The Acclaimed.

The former World Tag Team Champion also spoke about meeting the 52-year-old legend at a recent autograph signing, where they supposedly bonded over their mutual working history with Billy Gunn.

"We've tried. He's a busy guy in his own life and I finally just met him at an autograph signing a couple of weeks ago and he was [a] nice guy, amazing guy, he's like, 'You worked with Billy? I worked with Billy,'" said Caster.

Caster also claimed that attempts had been made to bring in other former Gunn allies, including Rico (who was an ally to Billy and Chuck in WWE), Bart Gunn, and DX member Sean Waltman (fka X-Pac). However, none of them have appeared on All Elite Wrestling programming yet.

"We've tried Bart Gunn, we've tried Rico, I think we've tried Sean Waltman. No one is showing up for Billy except for Max Caster and Anthony Bowens." [H/T Wrestling Inc]

Max Caster claimed that he is still suspended in AEW

Known for his incendiary entrance raps and his often-criticized social media activity, Max Caster has received several suspensions in the promotion. However, the legitimacy of those suspensions has often been in question.

AEW's official X/Twitter profile announced a singles match between Caster's tag partner Anthony Bowens and Brian Cage on the May 18, 2024, episode of Rampage. Caster shared the tweet and claimed his suspension in the Tony Khan-led promotion has not yet been lifted.

"My suspension continues this Saturday on #AEWRampage!" he wrote.
