"Max finds new ways to impress me" - WWE Legend declares MJF is not overrated after AEW Dynamite 250 classic
At AEW Dynamite 250, Will Ospreay and MJF had a grueling 59-minute and 58-second showdown for the AEW International Championship. This match opened the show, and it ended with Friedman's stunning victory, making him the new AEW International Champion.
MJF is a polarising figure in the world of professional wrestling. While fans and people associated with the industry adore him for his cut-throat promo skills, some believe that he is immensely overrated. They say that even though he is deadly on the microphone, his in-ring skills are ordinary. Interestingly, ex-WWE Superstar Bully Ray appeared on the latest episode of Busted Open and supported the 28-year-old AEW star.
Ray stated that Friedman possesses the skills that never ceases to amaze him. The WWE Hall of Famer also said that MJF is not at all overrated. Additionally, he stated that even though the current AEW International Champion acts brash at times, it's normal because he is still in the early stages of his career.
"Max finds new ways to impress me every single time I go out there. You've heard me speak praise about Max and I've come across other veterans in the business who say, 'Max, the kid is overrated.' I say, 'No, he is not.' He is not overrated. He might be a little pompous, he might have a chip on his shoulder. He might have had a little bit of a big head early on in his career but every wrestler goes through it," said Ray [From 01:00 to 01:37]

Bully Ray enjoyed the AEW International Championship match between Will Ospreay and MJF at Dynamite 250
In the same podcast episode mentioned above, Bully Ray praised MJF for his long matches against workhorses like Bryan Danielson and Will Ospreay. Furthermore, he pointed out that The Aerial Assassin lowered his in-ring pace because he knew that the bout was going to last for close to an hour.
"We have now watched MJF go 60 minutes with [Bryan] Danielson and [Will] Ospreay. Now tonight wasn't your typical Ospreay match in which he's moving in a million miles per hour for the majority of the time. If they are going on for an hour, he can't keep up that pace. But who the hell knows, maybe Ospreay can. But it's not the pace that I want to see. I enjoyed the pacing of the match tonight. I enjoyed it when they got to the 55-minute mark when they really started to hit the gas" said Ray [From 01:51 to 02:36]
MJF recently turned heel by attacking Daniel Garcia after the latter's match against Ospreay earlier this month.
