Mercedes Mone confirms major Shane McMahon rumor

AEW's Mercedes Mone (fka Sasha Banks) currently holds the TBS Championship and the Strong Women's Championship. At Forbidden Door 2024, Mone faced CMLL's Stephanie Vaquer in a Winner Takes All match and reigned supreme, becoming a double champion.

Mone signed with AEW earlier this year. Interestingly, for most of her pro wrestling career, she performed in WWE, winning numerous titles like the Women's Championship and the Women's Tag Team Title. She played a crucial role in the company's women's revolution alongside Becky Lynch, Bayley, and Charlotte Flair.

Earlier this month, PWInsider reported that the 32-year-old AEW star bumped into Shane McMahon at the airport. Furthermore, the duo allegedly had a conversation. These reposts were recently confirmed in The CEO's newsletter.

"After it all, by only the fates aligned – I walked into the airport, was in line by the bagel shop when I suddenly looked up, and there he was, just as surprised as I was. My first day being a double titleholder and the first wrestler and former WWE Superstar I see is [Shane] McMahon….come on, if that isn’t the universe working in divine timing, I don’t know what else it could be."

Shane McMahon is the son of former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. He is a professional wrestler and a businessman. In the global juggernaut, he has held titles such as the European, Hardcore, and Tag Team championships.

Shane McMahon gave Mercedes Mone his number at the airport

In the newsletter mentioned above, Mercedes Mone revealed that she has always appreciated McMahon. The 54-year-old seemingly even gave The CEO his number.

"I’ve always loved Shane. When we locked eyes, we both kind of looked at each other like, 'Is that you?' Our faces lit up as we got to talking a bit and before he boarded his flight, he gave me his number… the rest as they say a history or maybe a mystery!"

Mercedes Mone came face-to-face with Britt Baker on the latest episode of AEW Dynamite. Furthermore, the latter expressed her desire to battle the dual champion at this year's All In pay-per-view that will take place at Wembley Stadium.
