Mercedes Moné facing her former rival in AEW will be a "money match," says WWE legend

Mercedes Moné (fka Sasha Banks) is currently one of AEW's biggest attractions. Although she signed with the company only a few months ago, she has rapidly risen through the ranks. WWE Hall of Famer Booker T believes a feud between the current TBS Champion and Saraya can draw money.

Moné is best known for her impressive run in WWE, where she won numerous championships. Between 2012 and 2022, she had matches with top talents such as Bayley, Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch, Carmella, Charlotte Flair, and more. She even faced AEW's Saraya (fka Paige) multiple times.

On a recent edition of his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T highlighted how Saraya and The CEO's WWE history could be used to lay the groundwork for a 'money' match between the two in All Elite Wrestling.

"That’s a match that we’ve seen before. It’s not something that’s new. It’s kind of like rehashing the past. Saraya, when she actually went out for her injury, who was the one that put her out? So to be able to come back to that at the right time. Oh, we might have some money there. That’s a money match," he said. [H/T: eWrestlingNews]

After signing with AEW in 2022, The Glampire won the AEW Women's World Championship at last year's All In. However, she dropped the title to Hikaru Shida in October 2023. In WWE, Saraya won the NXT Women's Championship once and the Divas Title twice.

Mercedes Moné is currently in a feud with Britt Baker

Mercedes Moné recently kicked off a high-profile feud with former AEW Women's World Champion Britt Baker. On a recent episode of Dynamite, Baker expressed her desire to lock horns with The CEO at All In, which is scheduled to take place in August 2024. However, Moné made it clear that she had no intention of facing the 33-year-old at the London event.

Mercedes Moné won the TBS Title in her AEW debut at Double or Nothing 2024. Last month at Forbidden Door, she defeated Stephanie Vaquer to capture the NJPW Strong Women's Championship. On this week's Dynamite, The CEO will put the TBS Championship on the line against Nyla Rose.
