Mercedes Mone lashes out at WWE veteran for criticizing her; says she's sick of "dumb old dudes" in wrestling

Mercedes Mone has lashed out at a WWE veteran for criticizing her. She had some choice words for him.

Jonathan Coachman made a name for himself in WWE before he moved on to other ventures. During his time in the Stamford-based promotion, Coachman played the role of an onscreen personality who would do whatever Vince McMahon told him to do. Given his vast experience in the industry, Coachman is still up to date on all things wrestling.

During a recent interview with Refin' it Up, Coachman took some shots at Mercedes Mone. He didn't hold back as he criticized her promo skills and said she wasn't as good as Britt Baker on the mic.

The AEW star took exception to this and responded in her Mone Mag newsletter where she said that she is used to that type of criticism as she has been getting it for over a decade. She also said that she is annoyed of "these dumb old dudes" coming at her. She also mentioned how people use her name to make money.

“I don’t read Wrestle Press, but Wrestle Press, that centers on me, pops up in my social media feed. I didn’t read the article. I just read the quote in the headline. I’ve been dealing with this kind of stuff for over a decade, so I’m used to it. But I am kind of annoyed with all these dumb old dudes in wrestling coming at me. I know the only reason that they’re doing it is because my name makes people click on their links. My name makes news. Oh yeah, and pretty sure making news makes Moné."

She continued by stating that it's hard for a man to see a young woman receive her value and make more money than them.

"Maybe that’s why I get paid what I do? Maybe? Lol. Plus, I’m sure it’s hard to see a young woman know and receive her value – and, not to mention, make a lot more than they do. But hey, either way, they can keep talking about me, whether negatively or positively. It reminds me that I must be doing something right.”

Mercedes Mone makes a big confession about Charlotte Flair

Before signing with AEW, Mercedes Mone wrestled for the WWE under the ring name Sasha Banks. During this time, she would have many notable feuds with the likes of Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Bayley, and many more.

One of her more memorable matches was an Iron Woman match she had against Charlotte at the WWE Roadblock 2016 PLE. During her newsletter, Mercedes Mone spoke about the match and how she knew it was going to be special. She also stated that in order to have a match like that one needs stamina and noted that Flair has plenty of it.

"Ospreay and MJF's incredible 60-minute match got me thinking about Iron Man matches and my Iron Woman match with Charlotte Flair. It went about 42 minutes, and I know we ended up going over time. I also went 53 minutes in the first ever women's Royal Rumble. How did I feel physically during and after those matches? Every time I was done, the only thing I wanted to do was to do more ... I knew the match with Charlotte was going to be so special. In addition to the storytelling and wrestling, you need someone with stamina – or at least I do — and Charlotte has it and then some."
