Mercedes Moné makes a massive proposal for the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024
AEW is headed to London for All In in less than three weeks, and Mercedes Moné will work her biggest match for the company so far. While athletes from around the world are in Paris this week for the 2024 Olympics, The CEO was inspired to issue a major offer for Team USA.
Celebrity WWE Hall of Famer Snoop Dogg made headlines this week as he carried the torch in the Olympics opening ceremony. The legendary rapper is also serving as an NBC correspondent in Paris during the Games. Former RAW guest host and rapper Flavor Flav sponsored the Team USA Water Polo team, while NFL player Jason Kelce, who also appeared at this year's WrestleMania XL, got close with the Team USA Rugby team. These pro wrestling connections were not lost on the former Sasha Banks.
Moné took to X/Twitter today to respond to a post from the Team USA Wrestling team, which focused on Sarah Hildebrandt's gold medal pursuit in the women's freestyle 50 kg weight class. The current AEW TBS Champion and Strong Women's Champion seemingly offered to work with the wrestlers on Team USA.
"First I see my cousin @SnoopDoggputting in work at @NBCOlympics.. then @FlavorFlavpulls out a whole sponsorship and now I hear @JasonKelceis the new face of @USARugby?! I want in. Gonna show y’all how it’s really done [triumph face emoji] [handshake emoji] #womenswrestling #partnersinparis?" Mercedes Moné wrote.
Team USA has not responded to The CEO as of this writing. The 32-year-old cousin of Snoop Dogg did not wrestle in high school or college, but she began her pro wrestling journey in 2008 at the age of 16.
Mercedes Moné brings in muscle ahead of AEW All In
Mercedes Moné is set to defend the AEW TBS Championship at All In. She will put the title on the line against Britt Baker in their first-ever match.
Kamille made her highly-anticipated AEW debut on last week's Dynamite as The CEO's new bodyguard. The former NWA World Women's Champion assisted Mercedes in serving a beatdown to Baker, and now another familiar face wants to join the faction.
Mercedes Moné captured the TBS Championship from Willow Nightingale in her AEW debut at Double or Nothing. Since then she defended her title four times, with three being on Dynamite. The CEO retained her title against Skye Blue, Zeuxis, and Nyla Rose.
She faced Stephanie Vaquer at Forbidden Door in a title vs. title match, where she captured the Strong Women's Championship. She has not defended the title as of this writing.
