Mercedes Moné makes serious comments against Vince McMahon after his documentary release - "I didn't like how he talked to me"
Mercedes Moné is now a top AEW star, but she made her name in WWE. The multi-time champion spent years working for Vince McMahon but left the company for alleged issues related to her former boss. Moné recently opened up about an unfortunate incident with the former chairman of WWE.
The former Sasha Banks had been wrestling for two years when she signed with World Wrestling Entertainment in late 2012. The company's fourth Women's Triple Crown Champion and third Women's Grand Slam Champion walked out of the organization in May 2022 amid creative issues with officials, among other problems.
AEW's current TBS Champion once had a good relationship with McMahon but has admitted the surprising reason she once kept a major secret from him.
The CEO has just opened up on why she really left WWE, while she and Naomi were the Women's Tag Team Champions. Speaking to The Breakfast Club, the current NJPW Strong Women's Champion revealed a conflict with Vince. Moné was asked why she left the company, and she replied:
"I left for many different reasons. A lot of personal stuff happened with myself and the chairman at the time. I didn't like how he talked to me and how I was talked down to. I was like, 'It's time to listen to your soul and your heart.' There was a light that came to me and I left WWE. A guide told me," Mercedes Moné said.
Moné was then asked about the allegations against the former WWE Chairman, but she said she did not know because she was not the lawyer. She was also asked whether McMahon ever talked "crazy" to her.
"Yeah, a little crazy. That day he talked to me a little crazy. It was enough for my source of light to come into my body and go, 'If you stay, that's not okay. This is for the rest of your life. What are you going to teach your kids? What are you going to teach people?' If you're feeling like this from words, after being here for ten years, you have to stand up for yourself.' That's what I did. A light came to me and said, 'You have to walk away and do something better for yourself,'" Mercedes Moné said. [H/T: Fightful]
Mercedes said "We went to everybody" when asked if she took her concerns to WWE's Human Resources department or anyone else. The former Four Horsewoman made very revealing comments this week when explaining her plan for watching the new Mr. McMahon docuseries on Netflix.
Mercedes Moné rumored for AEW Grand Slam
AEW has not confirmed Mercedes Moné for tonight's big Grand Slam tapings at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City. Dynamite will air live, while Collision will be taped to air on Saturday.
The CEO is rumored to appear on tonight's Dynamite, despite no formal announcement. AEW officials sent the former WWE Superstar out to do numerous media interviews in New York City on Tuesday, indicating that they have plans for her to appear.
Mercedes Moné retained her TBS Championship over Britt Baker at All In. She then retained over Hikaru Shida at All Out but has not defended the gold since then.
