Mercedes Mone is a proud "big sister" following reunion with AEW tag team after 5 years

AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone, formerly known as Sasha Banks, described herself as a proud big sister after reuniting with a tag team after five years. The duo in question recently won gold in the Jacksonville-based promotion. That would be the Private Party.

Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy became the new AEW World Tag Team Champions after defeating The Young Bucks on a recent episode of Dynamite. The duo has been associated with the Tony Khan-led promotion since its inception and finally got their crowning moment.

Meanwhile, reigning TBS Champion Mercedes Mone talked about her reunion with the Private Party after the duo became the AEW World Tag Team Champions. In the recent edition of her Mone Mag newsletter, The CEO recalled her first meeting with Quen and Kassidy:

"Being reunited with the boys in Private Party last week was so great. While there is nothing currently in the works as far as a faction or collaboration, I have been watching those boys come up since they were young fans training with Amazing Red at the House of Glory Wrestling School. I first met them back in 2015 when they were in their late teens. I remember about five years ago when Isiah and Quen came up to ask me for my advice." [H/T Mone Mag]

Mone further explained how she feels proud like a big sister to the Private Party:

"They were curious about what it would be like and how to go about signing up with a big promotion company. When they told me they signed with AEW, I was so proud! I just felt like a proud sister. Seeing them win the AEW [World] Tag Team Titles five years later has been amazing! Again, I feel like their little big sister and am really proud of them. All of the wrestlers backstage are so happy for them." [H/T Mone Mag]

Mone concluded by saying that Quen and Kassidy worked so hard and it was great to support them as a proud sister.

Mercedes Mone's match for AEW Full Gear 2024 announced

After weeks of animosity building up between Mercedes Mone and Kris Statlander, the two women are finally set for a title showdown. Tony Khan recently announced on X/Twitter that The CEO will defend her TBS Championship against Statlander at the upcoming AEW Full Gear 2024 Pay-Per-View.

Mercedes has overcome every challenge as the TBS Champion since winning the title at the AEW Double or Nothing Pay-Per-View earlier this year. It remains to be seen whether The CEO manages to retain her title against Kris at Full Gear 2024.
