Mercedes Mone says female AEW star is "pissing" her off backstage
Mercedes Mone is one of the biggest stars in AEW at the moment. However, she is unhappy with another female star.
Saraya and Mercedes Mone have a lot of history together dating back to their time in WWE. Both women were part of the women's evolution and even faced off against each other several times. In fact, Saraya injured her neck during a live event match against Mone which initially caused her to retire from the ring.
With both women working together again after all these years, it looks like there is some animosity boiling over. It was reported recently that Saraya was unhappy with the special treatment the former Sasha Banks has been receiving in AEW.
During a recent edition of her Mone Mag newsletter, Mone said that Saraya has been pissing her off backstage lately:
"From CEO: I really am unstoppable with Kamille by my side. The CEO is always handling business, so I’ll think about taking that phone call from MVP. As far as Saraya goes, I heard she just signed a new deal with AEW, which is perfect for us to continue our story. She’s been really pissing me off backstage lately, too, thinking that her dog Roxy is cuter than RYU. I think NOT!" [H/T Mone Mag]
Mercedes Mone fired a shot at Charlotte Flair during AEW Dynamite
On the 8th October 2024 episode of AEW Dynamite, Mercedes Mone was set to compete against Emi Sakura. However, before the match began, she had some choice words for her opponent.
Before her match, The CEO was interviewed by Renee Paquette. She said that this won't be the first time she would be dethroning a Queen. While Emi Sakura's nickname is "Queen", another star who bears the same nickname is Charlotte Flair. Hence, this could be her way of firing a shot at her former rival:
"And you know, this isn't the first time I've dethroned a queen before. And it certainly won't be the last, because money changes everything." [0:52-1:01]
It will be interesting to see when Mercedes Mone and Saraya will compete for the first time in an AEW ring.
