Mercedes Mone teases blockbuster plans outside AEW; shares update
AEW star Mercedes Mone has provided a massive update on her plans outside the promotion. The CEO is the current TBS and NJPW Strong Women's Champion.
Mercedes Mone became one of the biggest AEW stars ever since she stepped foot in the company. She won the TBS Title in her in-ring debut at Double or Nothing and also captured the NJPW Strong Women's Championship at Forbidden Door, becoming a Double Champ. However, it seems like she is set to try her luck in a different profession.
In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Mercedes Mone revealed that she's planning to release an album soon as she's working on music daily. The CEO teased the release for December and also noted how Hollywood has been trying to sign her for movies.
“I’ve been busier than ever, so Hollywood is definitely in the pursuit. Alongside with makeup, music, still doing music every single day. Trying to get an album to come out, going to be producing something in December.” [H/T:RingsideNews]
AEW star Mercedes Mone recalls wrestling Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 37
At WrestleMania 37, Bianca Belair and Mercedes Mone (FKA Sasha Banks) tore the house down in the main event for the SmackDown Women's Championship. The EST came out victorious and successfully defeated Banks to become the champion.
In a recent interview with WTOP, Mercedes Mone recalled the match and revealed how emotional Bianca Belair was before wrestling her in the main event of 'Mania. Mercedes also reflected on how she couldn't believe the two were main eventing the biggest show in professional wrestling.
"It was so emotional. That was one of my biggest dreams since I was 10 years old, but it was so big I didn’t think it was possible, then here I was at WrestleMania 37 in the middle of the ring looking at Bianca [Belair] like, wow, we are doing this. This is so much bigger than us, bigger than wrestling. That moment was so special. The way she looked at me, I was like, girl, you better stop before I start bawling and we slip in the ring from our tears," she said. [H/T: Post Wrestling]
Mercedes Mone is now in AEW, however, she has revealed many times that a WWE return in the future is possible. It will be interesting to see if The CEO actually comes back to the Stamford-based promotion.
