Michael Cole namedrops former WWE and AEW star at Bash in Berlin

Michael Cole name-dropped a former WWE and AEW star at Bash in Berlin. This personality is someone that is respected very much in both companies.

Ric Flair made his AEW debut in October last year as a gift from Tony Khan to Sting during the latter's retirement run. The 75-year-old legend had a decent outing but nothing noteworthy and left the company in July this year.

Michael Cole brought up his name when he was talking about Gunther potentially breaking Flair’s record for world titles. He also mentioned John Cena in the same sentence.

“In 20 years, we may be talking about Gunther as approaching John Cena and Ric Flair as a 16 time World Champion,” he said.

Gunther went on to defeat Randy Orton in the main event at Bash in Berlin, thereby making it a successful inaugural title defense for the Ring General.

Gunther takes shots at former AEW star Ric Flair

World Heavyweight Champion, Gunther is known to be very straightforward when it comes to getting his point across and this time, he did just that, at the expense of Ric Flair.

The former AEW star was known for his Chops, which he used to great effect during his legendary career. Gunther has now labeled it as "not very effective." He was speaking with SHAK Wrestling for CBS Sports when he said that the only two people whose Chops he would rate highly, apart from himself, were Kenta Kobashi and Shinya Hashimoto. He noted that Flair overplayed his version of the move.

"Kenta Kobashi, then myself. Who else? I mean, Ric Flair was very known for his chops. Not very effective though. He really, he spammed them a lot. And I think, you know what? I'll put in [Shinya] Hashimoto. He didn't have the knife-edge chop to the chest but the one to the neck. I always enjoyed that," he said.

It will be interesting to see if Ric Flair will have anything to say about this. One can hope that the World Heavyweight Champion said this with good intentions.
