Michael Cole namedrops top AEW star during WWE Money in the Bank 2024
A former AEW World Champion was namedropped during WWE Money in the Bank 2024 by legendary announcer Michael Cole. The mention was made during a world title match at the premium live event.
The top AEW star in question is none other than Jon Moxley (fka Dean Ambrose). After spending a large chunk of his career in the WWE, Moxley signed with the Tony Khan-led promotion in 2019. However, many fans still hope to see him back in the Stamford-based promotion at some point.
At Money in the Bank, WWE announcer Michael Cole mentioned Jon Moxley during the World Heavyweight Title match between Seth Rollins and Damian Priest. Cole mentioned Dean Ambrose while discussing The Visionary's past rivals. For those unaware, Rollins and Moxley were part of The Shield in the global juggernaut. They also feuded after the faction disbanded.
Moxley recently became the first wrestler to hold the WWE, AEW, and IWGP world championships. The Purveyor of Violence's stellar title run ended at the 2024 Forbidden Door pay-per-view, where he lost to NJPW's Tetsuya Naito. With All In 2024 just around the corner, it remains to be seen what Tony Khan has in store for one of his biggest stars.
