Michael Cole namedrops top AEW star on WWE RAW
WWE Commentator Michael Cole mentioned a top AEW star on tonight's edition of RAW. The star he talked about is Bryan Danielson.
The American Dragon established himself as a main eventer in WWE after working in the promotion for more than a decade. He wrestled under the name Daniel Bryan in the global sports entertainment juggernaut. He won World Championships several times in the company, and his matches were highly acclaimed by critics and fans.
Bryan Danielson left WWE in 2021 and joined AEW the very same year. He is currently enjoying his final year as a full-time wrestler, as he will be wrestling less often. His contract with the Jacksonville-based promotion expired earlier this month, but he's still scheduled to compete in the main event of All In on August 25.
At WrestleMania 28, Sheamus defeated Danielson in just 18 seconds to capture the World Heavyweight Championship. On tonight's edition of RAW, Michael Cole mentioned the infamous bout during the Celtic Warrior's match with Pete Dunne.
"The former World Champion Sheamus - won one of his World Titles just down the road from Fort Lauderdale in Miami at WrestleMania, beating Daniel Bryan in 18 seconds to win that World Championship," he said. [H/T - WrestleTalk]
