Michael Cole surprisingly namedrops top AEW star during WWE Survivor Series: WarGames
Legendary WWE commentator, Michael Cole namedropped one of the biggest AEW stars during WWE Survivor Series: WarGames. Cole dropped the name during the kickoff show.
The top AEW star in question is the current World Champion, Jon Moxley (fka Dean Ambrose. Before Moxley became a megastar in All Elite Wrestling, he was famously a member of The Shield faction alongside Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. The trio made their main roster debut at Survivor Series 2012.
During the kickoff show of the premium live event, the veteran commentator, Michael Cole mentioned Dean Ambrose (aka Jon Moxley). He did so while describing The Shield's debut at Survivor Series 2012 as CM Punk's mercenaries.
“For me, my favorite Survivor Series moment was 2012, and that was the night that Ambrose and Rollins and Reigns appeared as The Shield coming in as mercenaries for CM Punk. And that was a night that really changed the landscape of all of WWE, and you see where they are in their careers now,” said Michael Cole. [H/T: WrestleTalk]
Moreover, Jon Moxley is currently the AEW World Champion and is looking for a new challenger after retaining the title against Orange Cassidy at Full Gear. It remains to be seen what's next for the Deathrider during his current title reign.
