MJF breaks silence on Adam Cole's return at AEW WrestleDream

AEW WrestleDream saw the returns of friends turned enemies MJF and Adam Cole. The Salt of the Earth has broken silence to address The Panama City Playboy's return at the PPV.

At AEW WrestleDream 2024, Jack Perry successfully retained his TNT Championship against Katsuyori Shibata. After the match, Perry continued to ambush Shibata who was saved by Daniel Garcia. This assault led to two huge returns. The first was MJF who came out to attack his rival Daniel Garcia. However, Friedman failed to watch his back as a returning Adam Cole made his way to the ring which led to MJF retreating. This was Cole's first appearance since Double or Nothing where his former tag team partner took him out.

On his X (formerly known as Twitter) account, the former International Champion sent a message to Adam Cole after his surprising return.

What is the story between Adam Cole and MJF in AEW?

The interesting storyline between Adam Cole and MJF kicked off when Cole challenged Friedman for the AEW World Championship in 2023. After their match, both men developed a friendship which got over with the fans and their partnership led them to winning Tag Team gold. Not only did Adam Cole and MJF main event All In 2023 against each other, but the duo also won the ROH World Tag Team Titles in the opening match of the show.

However, Adam shocked the world at the Worlds End PPV as he was revealed as The Devil after MJF lost the World Title to Samoa Joe. The storyline could not kick off at the time because both Cole and Friedman had to take time off to deal with their injuries.

Surprisingly, with both men returning at WrestleDream, it seems like the company has made a double turn as Adam Cole was previously supposed to be a heel in this storyline. We will have to wait and see how the promotion books the feud starting from the upcoming episode of Dynamite.
