MJF calls UK a "third-world country," challenges top star to first-time-ever match outside AEW

MJF is doing everything he can to spite Will Ospreay in the lead-up to AEW All In 2024. The Wolf of Wrestling has taken his belligerence to a new level by insulting Ospreay's home country, the United Kingdom, and challenging one of The Aerial Assassin's friends and rivals, RevPro's Michael Oku.

Friedman defeated Will Ospreay for the AEW International Championship two weeks ago. The new champion has since labeled himself an American Hero for conquering the British star, and he even transformed the title into the American Championship.

The former AEW International Champion wants a rematch at next month's All In pay-per-view at Wembley Stadium, and Maxwell is going out of his way to target The Aerial Assassin's character, history, and relationships ahead of the event. He sent a message today to Revolution Pro Wrestling's top star, Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion Michael Oku, whom Ospreay passed the torch to in RevPro earlier this year:

"Michael Oku. Will Ospreay, you earned his respect, which means you have my undying hatred. You are scum of the earth, you are disgusting, you are scrawny, you are indie trash, and you hail, let's face it, from the worst country in the entire world. A third-world country, if we're being honest."

MJF sent a barrage of insults at the young star and laid out a challenge. It seems that The Wolf of Wrestling will face Oku with the AEW American Championship on the line at RevPro's Summer Sizzler event on August 11.

MJF will also defend his title in CMLL ahead of AEW All In

Maxwell Jacob Friedman may have become more despicable after winning the former International Championship, but that doesn't mean he's resting on his laurels. The 28-year-old is surprisingly willing to put his new American title up against top stars from around the world.

Before he faces Michael Oku on August 11, MJF will travel to Arena Mexico on August 2 to defend the AEW American Championship against CMLL's Templario. The champ had some choice words for the Mexican star in a recent video:

Friedman's return from injury seems to have energized him, with fans lauding his near-hour-long match with Will Ospreay on the July 17 episode of AEW Dynamite. Whether The Wolf of Wrestling can survive this new gauntlet of international opponents remains to be seen.
