MJF denied permission to use WWE legend's finishing move
MJF is the AEW Original widely regarded by many as arguably the biggest star on the roster. The multi-time champion has received high marks from fans across the industry, and endorsements from notable wrestling legends, including WWE Hall of Famers. It's now being revealed how MJF was denied the use of a finisher made famous by a certain legend.
Diamond Dallas Page made his name in WCW and WWE, but in recent years he made several appearances for All Elite Wrestling and has been close with multiple members of the roster. QT Marshall is somewhat of a DDP protégé, and AEW's Vice President of Show and Creative Coordination was gifted the Diamond Cutter as a finisher in 2020 when Marshall and Dustin Rhodes teamed as The Natural Nightmares.
God's Gift To Professional Wrestling wants everyone to know he was gifted the finisher by DDP himself. Speaking to RJ City on the latest episode of AEW's "Hey! (EW)" series, Marshall confirmed his gift from Page but denied that he ever dubbed it the QT Cutter. He also revealed how Maxwell Jacob Friedman was denied permission when he wanted to use the Diamond Cutter as his own finisher.
"He [DDP] called me one day. [...] because I didn't have a finish, I did but someone else was using it. Long story short. [...] and I said yeah, I'll do it, but I never called it the QT Cutter. I actually enjoy when people say, 'The Diamond Cutter handed down from Diamond Dallas Page!' Because people hate it, they hate that of all the professional wrestlers in the world, he chose me, right? So, I want to keep putting that out to the world. So, for those fans out there watching: DDP chose me. It could have been MJF, could have been anyone else, he chose me. In fact, MJF asked for it, and he said no," QT Marshall said. [From 2:54 to 3:29]

DDP's last match involved Marshall and Friedman. The Bash at The Beach edition of AEW Dynamite on January 15, 2020, featured MJF, The Butcher, and The Blade defeating DDP, QT, and Dustin when the 28-year-old rolled Marshall up for the pin.
QT Marshall and MJF set for AEW Full Gear
QT Marshall works as All Elite Wrestling's Vice President of Show and Creative Coordination these days and has only fought in dark matches since returning in February. However, he will be competing at the Full Gear Zero Hour pre-show on Saturday, November 23.
The Full Gear pre-show will feature AEW's next celebrity match as Marshall takes on "Big Boom!" AJ of The Costco Guys, who will have his son Big Justice in his corner. AJ actually has some experience on the Northeast indie scene and is said to be fairly decent in the ring.
MJF is also set to return to the ring at Full Gear. Adam Cole and Roderick Strong have been racing to three victories to earn the right to face The Salt Of The Earth at the pay-per-view. However, it was recently stated that if Cole and Strong reach three wins at the same time, then this could be a Triple Threat Match involving MJF vs. Cole vs. Strong.
