MJF finally explains why he turned heel on popular AEW star

Former AEW World Champion MJF recently broke his silence regarding his shocking heel turn a few days ago on AEW Dynamite, attacking one of the promotion's up-and-coming stars, Daniel Garcia.

Friedman did so following the show's main event, which saw Garcia challenge Will Ospreay for the International Championship. He ended up being unsuccessful and paid the price as MJF mercilessly attacked him, leaving him bloodied in the middle of the ring.

To start this week's episode of Collision, the former AEW World Champion came out to address his heel turn, and his gruesome actions. He revealed that what he did to Daniel Garcia was not personal, but he served as a symbol for who he wanted to get back at, the fans.

MJF claimed that the fans turned on him after he lost at Worlds End six months ago. He talked about how despite his efforts to open himself to that, he could only watch as stars like Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland, and Will Ospreay became fan favorites in his absence.

He then had a few words for the Aerial Assassin, whom he felt the crowd had rallied behind the most. MJF wanted to bring the company back to how it was when he was on top, and it seems he plans on doing so by toppling one of its biggest stars in Will Ospreay.
