MJF opens up on when he stopped caring about WWE legend John Cena
MJF was a fan of John Cena growing up, but he seemingly stopped caring about him later. In a recent interview, he revealed the reason for this.
Friedman is set to put his AEW American Championship on the line at the 2024 All In pay-per-view at Wembley Stadium on August 25. But before that, he successfully defended his gold against Michael Oku at RevPro Summer Sizzler in London this past Sunday.
During MJF's trip to the United Kingdom, Jack King of Cultaholic interviewed him. King even asked Friedman to name the wrestlers he admired as a child, other than Roddy Piper and CM Punk.
The Wolf of Wrestling replied that he was a fan of John Cena, but only during his Doctor of Thuganomics era. Once the WWE legend stopped rapping, Friedman seemingly lost interest in him.
“John Cena was a fat head on my wall when he was rapping. Then he stopped the rapping and he started being very nice and I didn’t care for it.” [H/T: SEScoops]
MJF addressed his rumored backstage altercation with Britt Baker
One of the other things that MJF and Jack King of Cultahoilic discussed was the former's rumored backstage confrontation with Britt Baker. The Salt of the Earth had the following to say about the incident:
"Tell me if this passes the smell test. I barge into a woman's locker room. I scream in the face of a 110-pound woman, and then I physically threaten her by punching a wall in her vicinity (...) and I don't get suspended. Does that pass the smell test to you? Almost everything that was written didn't happen."
The incident seemingly took place on July 17, which marked the 250th episode of AEW Dynamite. Britt Baker reportedly made some critical comments about Friedman and his girlfriend, Alicia Atout, which reportedly led to an altercation between the two stars backstage.
