MJF reacts to Bryan Danielson’s retirement
MJF was the latest of those in the wrestling world to react to Bryan Danielson's retirement last night at AEW WrestleDream pay-per-view. He did so in a manner that was very typical of him.
The two men have only shared the ring on one occasion, and it was arguably one of The American Dragon's toughest fights in his time with the promotion. This was in a 60-minute Iron Man match at Revolution last year for the world title. Ultimately, Friedman won, continuing his reign as the AEW World Champion.
On X/Twitter, MJF posted a short but sweet message for Bryan Danielson after he retired from full-time wrestling last night after losing his World Title. He acknowledged the multi-time world champion's great career. He also shared a photo from their bout last year in the post.
Check out his post here.
"Good career I guess. Idk whatever, f**k off," the former AEW World Champion posted.
Jon Moxley also briefly paid tribute to Bryan Danielson after their match
The American Dragon's career ended in the most brutal way possible. He lost by getting choked out by Jon Moxley, and moments later, went through another heartbreak and an inhumane attack from his former stablemates.
For a brief moment after the match ended, Moxley broke character to pay tribute to Bryan as he bowed down in the center of the ring for a quick show of respect.
It was reported that Danielson wanted to lose to Jon Moxley, and this could be him acknowledging everything. However, this was just a quick moment, as what came next left fans feeling uncomfortable and unsatisfied, as the scene of Bryan Danielson's retirement was not what they expected.
With a new world champion in the company and the landscape of AEW once more changing, fans will have to stay tuned to see the fallout of this event. This could all take place this Wednesday on Dynamite.
