MJF's title reign could be in serious jeopardy ahead of All In; but not in AEW

MJF is the reigning American Champion in AEW. But he might lose his title outside AEW, ahead of All In.

On the July 17 edition of Dynamite, The Wolf of Wrestling had a match against Will Ospreay for the AEW International Championship. He defeated the Aerial Assassin to become the new titleholder in a 59-minute showdown. Later, he renamed the belt to the AEW American Championship.

The Salt of the Earth is scheduled to defend his title against indie star Michael Oku at RevPro’s Summer Sizzler 2024. The event will take place on Sunday, August 11th in London, England which is before All In.

Speaking in an interview with Cultaholic, Oku stated that he was confident that he would shock the world by beating MJF and taking away his title.

He said, “What’s funny is that no matter what MJF says, and he has said a lot, he said a lot in his promo and he does the whole thing of being confident and insulting the country, insulting me by calling me scrawny, what he can’t change is that factually, he challenged me. I didn’t put in some application form or try to message people like Tony Khan or Chris Jericho, I was just here putting full focus into the Copper Box, and he said 'I want to wrestle Michael Oku,' so no matter what he says in terms of insults, he can’t change that fact. I am sure I am going to shock the world once again.” [H/T cultaholic]
