Multi-time women's champion finally breaks silence after shocking heel turn in AEW
A top AEW star has finally broken their silence after their heel turn that came out of nowhere last weekend during Collision. That would be Serena Deeb.
The Professor has had a balanced year so far, as she rose through the ranks a few months ago but fell short while challenging "Timeless" Toni Storm. Since then, she has been situated on the mid-card and has also fallen short of title opportunities.
Her frustrations boiled over last weekend as she blindsided Queen Aminata after her match, and launched an attack on her. Deeb has hinted at frustration over recent results and treatment but a certain interaction with Aminata may have been the tipping point for her. The Queen was seen gloating at her after Deeb lost last weekend and this resulted in her heel turn.
Taking to her Instagram stories, the 38-year-old star reposted this specific backstage moment before gloating back at Queen Aminata.
"Who's laughing now?" Serena Deeb shared.

It remains to be seen what the future has in store for the 38-year-old star.
What feuds have been going on in the AEW women's division?
Several high-intensity feuds came to a close at the AEW All In 2024 and All Out 2024 pay-per-views. Mariah May finally ended Toni Storm's AEW Women's World Championship reign; Mercedes Moné, formerly known as Sasha Banks, proved why she is a double champion; and Kris Statlander put away her former best friend.
Now, following those matches, it seems that several feuds and major storylines may be beginning soon. Apart from Serena Deeb and Queen Aminata, there have been hints at other high-intensity feuds as well.
One feud that was teased at All In 2024 was between Saraya, formerly known as Paige, and Jamie Hayter. This would be a full-circle moment, seeing as in kayfabe it was the former WWE Superstar who put Hayter out of action.
Mariah May has been picking up fights with whoever is in her way, as she has gotten into confrontations with names such as Yuka Sakazaki, Skye Blue, and even Queen Aminata. However, one person May has been looking to talk to is her former ally, Mina Shirakawa. Fans will have to stay tuned to witness further developments in this storyline.
More feuds and major storylines could still be in the works, seeing as there is ample time before AEW's next pay-per-view.
